After receiving reports regarding full body apparitions being seen in an area of Camp Livingston known as the Hanging Trees, Louisiana Paranormal Studies decided to investigate the heavily wooded area.  Camp Livingston is just north of Alexandria and is part of the Kisatchie National Forest.  The camp has had a short but interesting history.  Camp Livingston was opened in 1940 by the U.S. Army and used as a training facility for more than 500,000 troops.  The 47,000 acre camp was also used to house German, Italian, and Japanese prisoners of war.  The camp was named afer Chancellor Robert R. Livingston, the negotiator of the Louisiana Purchase.  It was closed in 1945 and became part of the Kisatchie National Forest.

We had to use limited equipment on this investigation, having only handheld equipment to use.  After setting up our camp, we headed out with our cameras, camcorders, and motion activated cameras.  Apparently there have been reports of seeing a full body apparition with glowing eyes in the woods.  Unfortunately we did not capture any evidence of this ourselves.  There was an instance where two of our members felt a sudden change in their emotions and one person did see what looked like a dark shadow with glowing eyes in the woods.  However, since we were unable to verify or capture evidence of these episodes, we cannot count them as proof of anything paranormal.  We do plan on revisiting this site for further study.
